The Texas Chain Saw Massacre '74posted May 8th 2005, 1:40PM
Mood: Disappointed
Music: Aeronautics, Masterplan
I saw The Texas Chain Saw Massacre from 1974 yesterday evening, you know. I expected it to be goog since it's such a classic and all, but obviously I was ALL wrong.
During the first thirty minutes I was thinking 'a bizarre film, but it's probably due to age. The 70s and all that.' Then, when the second thirty minutes started, my attitude changed to 'what the hell's going on around here?!' And it stayed like this (with a little dose of 'this is the stupidest film that I hvae ever seen!') when the drone of the chain saw was the only thing I heard for about ten minutes time (besides those constant screams of a stupid running girl). Yeah, so if anyone could tell me what's this film about apart from sensless kids-killing and a seriously mentally ill 'family' having fun out of hitting the girl with a hammer in the head (accompanied by their grandpa's corpse), then I'd really appreciate it. Or no, maybe no. I'll just leave it lying as it is. I don't want to do anything about it.
In conclusion then, you can surely start reading a book while watching this movie (like I didi ater some time) or not watch it at all, because IT'S NOT WORTH IT. Instead, reach for something more ambicious, The Silence of the lambs or even Hannibal for example. Even Dog Soldiers, which has a crap-opinion, has 100% more of intelligence in it than the massacre. I'm really disappointed and I am sure that I will never watch this stupid and having-no-serious-plot movie. As I said, it's a waste of time :/ Oh, and it wasn't actually a massacre, by the way...
I've got to watch TSotL or TPotO to get my good taste back in place, blah...

'I thought you might be curious to find out if you're smarter than the person I'm looking for.'
'Then, by implication, you think you are smarter that I am, since you caught me.'
'No. I know I'm not smarter than you are.'
'Then how did you catch me, Will?'
'You had disadvantages.'
'What disadvantages?'
'Passion. And you're insane.'

This dialogue between Will and Hannibal cheers me up...
